Your Guide Our Hospital
What to bring
You will need to bring the following personal items with you when you check in:
- Health Fund Member Number
- Medicare Card
- Pharmacy Entitlement Card
- Pension/DVA Card
- Private X-rays
- Current medications including unfilled prescriptions

- Nightwear, robe and slippers
- Reading/writing material
- Comfortable clothing for daywear including shoes
Meals
Our hospital staff are highly skilled and caring professionals, working together to create a “home away from home” ambience for our patients.
A selection of delicious food is prepared onsite fresh to you. Manly Waters Private Hospital’s kitchen is fully licensed with the NSW Food Authority.
All fresh fruit and vegetables are used and special diets are catered for. Select from our daily menu and enjoy your glass of wine with dinner.
Lift Access
The lift is located on street level. Please go to the Reception office on the Ground Floor to be directed to Admissions.
Discharge
Our Discharge Planning Team can recommend services that may be required on leaving hospital. Our Hospital has developed a strong liaison with local Home Nursing and Community Services.

The expected discharge time is 10:00am. Please arrange your transport home by 10:00am.
Important Information on Discharge Day
Before you leave hospital, please make sure you have the following:
- a discharge letter
- all personal belongings
- all current medications
- made any necessary follow-up appointments
- all personal x-rays
- completed the Customer Comment Card
- On your way out, please see the receptionist at the Front Reception, ground floor, to finalise any accounts.
Hospital Transport
Our staff can arrange transport to and from referring facilities or for appointments for a fee. To arrange transport, please speak to one of our Nursing team.
Day Only Rehabilitation Transport
We can provide our Day Patients with community transport options getting to and from our Day Rehabilitation Program.
Visiting Hours
- Days: Monday to Sunday
- Hours: 10:00 am till 8:00 pm
Administration Hours
- Days: Monday – Friday
- Hours: 7am – 5pm
The number and frequency of visitors is dependent upon each patient’s physical and emotional condition and is therefore at the discretion of the patient’s carers.
Arrangements for visiting outside these hours may be made in consultation with the Rehabilitation Manager or Nurse in Charge.
In special circumstances, in room accommodation can be provided at an additional charge.
In order that staff can devote the majority of their time to care giving, it would be appreciated if you could organise a spokesperson for your family to make enquiries and relay information.
Kindly observe any signage and instructions relating to the use of mobile phones and electronic equipment in the hospital, as some devices may interfere with medical equipment.
Car
We are located on the corner of Victoria Street and Robert Street in Ashfield. We have onsite parking available for our visitors, and unmetered parking in the surrounding streets if required.
Train
The nearest station to the hospital is Ashfield Station. Trains run from the City and Western suburbs regularly with trains departing every 10-15 mins. From the station the hospital is about a 10 minute walk.
Bus
Regular buses run including State Transit Bus 483 leaving from Liverpool Road near Hercules Street along Liverpool Road to Victoria Street with a 9 minute walk to the hospital. Alternatively, take the State Transit Bus 409 leaving from Elizabeth Street near Bland street to Queen Street near Robert Street with a 6 minute walk.
